Artem Mishchenko is a Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Manchester. He earned his PhD in Molecular Electronics from Bern University in 2010. He is an expert in van der Waals materials and using AI to discover new materials, with over 120 papers published in top journals. Recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher for seven years in a row (2018–2024), his work explores quantum effects in 2D materials. His accolades include the 2018 EMFL Prize, being a finalist for the 2021 Blavatnik Award, and Fellowships with the Institute of Physics and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
